Porto’s Must-Try Restaurant Recommendations

📍 Muro do Bacalhau – A long-awaited Porto restaurant with a creative twist. We ordered arroz de pato (duck rice), a starter, and beef. The duck rice was incredibly fragrant—I thought the cheese on top might be overwhelming, but it wasn’t at all! The starter had orange-infused sweet potato mash, a perfect sweet-salty combo that balanced the richness. The beef dish had delicious potatoes and sauce (though the meat could be improved). Other dishes at nearby tables looked amazing too—definitely a place worth revisiting! ⭐ Rating: 5/5! 📍 CA Downtown – A cozy brunch spot. The shrimp with flattened croissant is a must-try—spicy and perfect for Chinese taste buds. We also tried Flora Porto Brunch and Desserts, which is more suited for Western palates and big appetites. The owner at CA Downtown was super friendly and even asked if we came from Xiaohongshu! The turnover is quick, so no long waits. 📍 Mercado do Bolhão – Porto’s largest seafood market. Inside, you’ll find fruits, flowers, cheese, and wine shops, with a row of seafood stalls on the right. Head to the stalls at the back—when we visited, the outer stalls had pre-opened sea urchins, while the inner ones opened them fresh. The sea urchin was sweeter than Spain’s in the same season 😭. Grab a glass of white Port wine, sit on the steps, bask in the sun, and enjoy the seafood—pure bliss! 📍 McDonald’s Portugal’s Limited-Edition Salted Egg Yolk Sundae – So good!!! McDonald’s devotees, run and get it! 📍 Restaurante Cantina 32 – HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Their tiger prawn dish is now one of the top three best prawns I’ve ever had—the roe melts on your tongue, and the meat gets sweeter as you chew. Perfect texture 💯. Their banana-flavored butter for the bread was also amazing. The cheesecake? Just okay 😁. #LisbonFood #LisbonExploration #LisbonTravel #PortugueseCuisine
