A fancy modern café focused on tourists and glamour.

They have a seating inside as well as outside on the side of the street and it's almost always completely full of tourists, so if you're coming in a larger group or don't have time to wait in a queue, I highly recommend trying to make a reservation. This also means the place can get quite noisy, so if you're looking for a calm and relaxing breakfast, go somewhere else.

Their menu offers fancy variations of the western-style breakfast and brunch classics, like waffles, pancakes, eggs and similar.

Even though the place is overpacked, the service is quick and caring, so that you do feel cared for. Because I had a sweet tooth, I went for the pancakes with their speciality coffee. The order arrived pretty quickly.

The coffee is definitely their hallmark and they make it very well! Hands down one of the best coffees I had in Portugal. However, the pancakes were not so great - quite dry, with overly fancy sprinkles, flower petals and overdone creams that didn't taste like much. It feels like if the primary focus was an Instagram-ready presentation, and the quality or taste were secondary. Look at the photo: Two (2) pieces of blueberry, One (1) piece of raspberry and half a strawberry, sliced. And of course, the meal was quite overpriced.

Please, remove the oats, pink cream, petals and sugar sprinkling and throw a handful of berries on with a cream or mascarpone. Make the pancakes crunchy and fluffy. Add maple syrup. Profit.

CA Downtown is an absolute gem that opened fairly recently! From the moment we walked in, we were treated to an exceptional dining experience. Andre, our server, was the highlight of our visit - his bubbly personality, genuine enthusiasm, and attentive service made our meal even more enjoyable.

The food is nothing short of spectacular. We indulged in their eggs Benedict with spicy shrimp served on a buttery, flaky croissant - the hollandaise sauce was silky smooth with just the right amount of tang, and the shrimp had the perfect amount of seasoning. The french toast was decadent - thick-cut bread with a custardy interior and caramelized exterior that melted in our mouths.

Their chicken and waffles deserve special mention - crispy, juicy chicken paired with fluffy, golden waffles that strike the ideal balance between savory and sweet.

The beverage selection is outstanding. The iced strawberry matcha latte was refreshing with real strawberry flavor complementing the earthy matcha notes. They use A1 ceremonial grade matcha imported directly from Japan, and you can truly taste the difference - smooth, vibrant, and without any bitterness. Their coffee program is equally impressive, with perfectly crafted mochas and lattes featuring beautiful latte art and rich, balanced flavors.

Everything tasted incredibly fresh, made with high-quality ingredients and attention to detail. CA Downtown has quickly become our new favorite spot - can't wait to return and try more...

i came here with my family and there was a long wait time. when we sat down we order our food and drinks but it took a long time for a server to even come to us. when the drinks came only my moms and my drink came out and my sisters and dads took another 15 mins. when we asked about the drinks the hostess was rude and said it wasn’t taking long and that we need to be patient. i asked for a lemonade when it came out it was straight up lemon juice. when we asked if they can remake it they said none of their drinks have sugar in them. so when my sisters matcha and my dads Americana came out there was no sugar and it was almost impossible to drink. we ordered our food 15 mins before a table of 15 and theirs came before ours and they were already paying when we just got our food. i got the dulce de leche pancakes and there was popcorn which was unnecessary and was soggy. i do want to say that the food was delicious and everyone was satisfied but once again the service was not what i thought it was going to be. for reference for the 4 of us with the meal and a drinks was 65€. overall i would not come here again, the food was not worth the wait and...
