Porto Restaurant Guide: 6 Must-Try Spots with Different Flavors
During my 4-day foodie adventure in Porto, I discovered how Portuguese cuisine shines with its diverse cooking techniques, fresh ingredients, and aromatic spices (my travel buddy and I loved it so much we didn’t even crave Chinese food!). Here are 6 fantastic restaurants we tried—prices are for reference (we ordered 4-6 dishes + wine each meal). All addresses can be found on Google Maps. 1. Muro do Bacalhau 🇵🇹 Portuguese | Riverside dining (watch out for seagulls!) ✔ Must-order: Creamy cilantro cuttlefish, codfish with potatoes, mushrooms, sausage platter. ✖ Skip their wine—it’s mediocre. 💰 €50 for 2 📍 Cais da Estiva 122, 4050-080 Porto 2. Floresta Cafe by Hungry Biker ☕ Brunch Spot | Go early to avoid queues! ✔ Best for breakfast—try their "Full Set" meal. 💰 €38 for 2 📍 R. das Flores 146, 4050-263 Porto 3. Restaurante O Valentim 🦞 Seafood | THE BEST MEAL of our trip! (20-min taxi from old town) ✔ Impeccably fresh seafood, perfect seasoning. Their vinho verde (green wine) pairs amazingly. ✔ Must-order: Grilled sea bass, octopus, garlic shrimp, seafood rice, clams. ⚠️ Double-check the name—don’t mix it up with nearby lookalike restaurants! 💰 €120 for 2 📍 R. Heróis de França 263, 4450-158 Matosinhos 4. Moroccan Restaurant 🌿 Moroccan | Hidden gem near Dom Luís I Bridge ✔ Great for lunch—huge portions, affordable, and flavors close to Chinese stews! ✔ Must-order: Veal tagine, creamy shrimp, Moroccan salad. 💰 €40 for 2 📍 R. de Saraiva de Carvalho 16, 4000-165 Porto 5. Mariscaria Bom Sucesso 🦐 Seafood Stall (indoor) | Cheap, hearty, and delicious! ✔ No English menu, but pictures make ordering easy. ✔ Must-order: Garlic prawns, seafood platter, seafood rice. 💰 €90 for 2 📍 Mercado Bom Sucesso, Praça do Bom Sucesso 74-90 Loja 21, 4150-146 Porto 6. Ostras & Coisas 🦪 Seafood | Decent but overpriced (great location near Clérigos Tower) ✔ Try: Grilled sea bream, octopus, spicy shrimp, oysters. 💰 €150 for 2 📍 Rua da Fábrica nº73, 4050-247 Porto #PortoEats #PortoRestaurants #PortugueseCuisine #SeafoodRice #PortoTravel #PortugalTravel #FoodieGuide #PortoSeafood #HiddenGems #TravelAndEat
