Portugal | Lisbon Food Guide Without Any Regrets

Among European cuisines, Portuguese and Spanish food are considered quite tasty. Below are the restaurants I’ve tried, and I’ll give fair reviews (since no one paid me, and I’m not here for clout—just sharing my experiences). I’ve had my share of disappointments, so I hope this helps you avoid pitfalls and enjoy great meals. Included is a map showing the approximate locations of the four spots. 1. Churrasqueira da Tapada ⭐⭐⭐ | €5 per person Google rating: 5.0 From my Chongqing-spiced palate’s perspective, it wasn’t amazing—just decent. A bit salty, and the meat was a little dry in the middle. The first two bites were okay, but then it got too dry. Still, half a chicken for €5 is a steal! This place is near Belém, but I wouldn’t recommend going out of your way for it. That said, it’s packed with locals—when I went, the guy in front of me bought four whole chickens, lol. The shop is tiny, run by a single grandpa who’s a bit overwhelmed. Check Google for opening hours—they take an afternoon break. 📍Tv. Tapada 5, 1300-366 Lisboa, Portugal 2. Cascais Remo ⭐⭐⭐⭐ | €16 per person Google rating: 4.4 Another spot filled with local uncles and aunties. 📍 Praça da Alegria 13, 1250-117 Lisboa, Portugal This is also a locals’ restaurant, tucked in a residential area (not a tourist trap). The food is good, portions are generous, and the waiter uncle’s English is basic—cash only. I went with a male friend, and we ordered two dishes that left us stuffed: Seafood rice (arroz de marisco): €18 (small pot €11) Grilled meat platter: €14 (pork belly, chicken, sausage, beef, veggies, rice, fries) Whew!!! All typed out by hand!!! These restaurants may not be mind-blowing, but they’re solid—no regrets, and the prices are fair. Hope my fellow foodies enjoy! #TravelFood #Portugal #Lisbon #Foodie #EatAroundTheWorld #GlobalTravel #NoRegretEats
