Portuguese Tapas in San Jose--Petiscos "Alum Rock"
๐Petiscos "Alum Rock" Best enjoyed when shared. Each dish is about the size of an outstretched palm, which is perfect for ordering a variety of options, and the prices are reasonable. The wine list is more extensive than the menu, offering a selection of wines, cocktails, and draft beers. Various tapas are also great accompaniments for drinking. ๐ Flamed Chourico $10 Pork sausage served with a flame on arrival. ๐ Pigโs Ear Salad $9 ๐๐ Crisp pig's ears tossed in a garlic, lemon juice, and olive oil dressing. Already fond of pig's ears, would love them even more with a touch of balsamic vinegar. ๐ Duck Rice $14 โ Stir-fried duck rice that's a bit dry, with very little meat. It's not as tasty as homemade fried rice. ๐ Lobster with Kimchi Mayo $21๐ A whole piece of lobster meat, very satisfying to eat. There's no taste of kimchi; it's essentially a large Lobster Roll without the bread. ๐ Beef Tongue in Tomato Sauce $12 The beef tongue is quite plump, but the sauce has a bitter taste with hardly any tomato flavor. ๐ Chicken Gizzard $10 ๐๐ The tomato chicken gizzards look similar to the beef tongue but taste much better. The tomato-based sauce is more robust, sprinkled with chopped parsley for added fragrance, and the appetizer bread is delicious when dipped in the tomato sauce. 1612 Alum Rock Ave, San Jose, CA 95116 #San Jose#Portuguese Tapas#food diary #Petiscos "Alum Rock"
