Potsdam: Germany’s Very Own Saltburn? 🌞
I’ve lived in Berlin for 7 years, and I can’t believe I’d never visited Potsdam before! This day trip was long overdue—and totally worth it! 🚇 Easy Getaway from Berlin Super convenient to reach: I took the RE1 train from Alexanderplatz, and it only took about 35 minutes to get to Potsdam Hauptbahnhof (Potsdam Central Station). 🗺️ One-Day Itinerary (Perfect for Vibe & History) 12:00 PM – Sanssouci Palace Grab an audio guide on-site—it’s great for learning fun facts about Frederick the Great and the palace’s history as you wander. Pro Tip: Buy a combo ticket! It lets you visit the kitchen, wine cellar, and art gallery too. I spent around 1.5 hours exploring everything. Lunch Break I ate at MYLIA near the train station. If you plan ahead, a picnic in Sanssouci Park would be even cozier—sunshine + greenery = pure relaxation 🧺! Afternoon – Sanssouci Park Time to wander! The statues and gardens are breathtaking—especially the hedge maze and the enclosed statues . They had major Saltburn movie vibes 🎬—the whole park feels almost too beautiful to be real. 4:00 PM – New Palace Book a slot in advance! Its interior is more luxurious than Sanssouci Palace and totally worth the visit—I spent about an hour here too. Before Leaving – Museum Barberini I popped by on my way back and luckily caught a Kandinsky special exhibition! Discounts available with your Sanssouci combo ticket, or there’s an evening rate after 5:30 PM (17:30). Bonus: I got to see works by Mondrian, Kandinsky, and Monet—making this trip extra worthwhile 🎨! #Berlin #BerlinDayTrips #Potsdam #SanssouciPalace #SaltburnVibes #PietMondrian #WassilyKandinsky #ClaudeMonet #BerlinSurroundings
