Pretty meals are still best enjoyed in France... 🇫🇷
🍽️ I dined at Marv & Ben in Copenhagen 🇩🇰. I had seen mixed reviews from fellow food enthusiasts, and after my meal, I have to say they were spot on. It's understandable why this Michelin-recommended restaurant hasn't managed to earn a star yet. I dined alone and ordered the six-course menu without wine pairings. Instead, I opted for a glass of Sauvignon Blanc, and I was perfectly fine without any sparkling wine. I requested that the caviar be added to the fish in the appetizer, and it was delicious, paired with elderflower and green strawberries—a lovely springtime touch. 🌸 The seafood was fresh, but every dish with a thick sauce was overly salty. I've also never encountered a fillet of pork at a Michelin restaurant that truly satisfied my taste buds. Is it just that I prefer a different flavor profile, or is this a matter of personal preference? The pre-meal bread wasn't as amazing as some reviews suggested, but when it was freshly baked and served hot with a big spoonful of cream, it was definitely a taste I enjoyed. 🥪 Overall, the experience was more disappointing than I had hoped. In the future, I'll focus more on street food when traveling. For truly exquisite meals, French cuisine still takes the cake! 🥖 I had originally booked a reservation for 9 PM, but after a long day of shopping, I called the restaurant to see if I could dine earlier. Perhaps because I was dining alone, they were able to accommodate me at the 5:30 PM slot. I finished my meal while it was still daylight outside! I also had a reservation at Geranium , but since Marv & Ben required a non-refundable deposit, I had to cancel it. 📞 🥐 I also visited two bakeries: Rug and Hart . Both had great atmospheres and delicious products. Rug is located in a villa, and I arrived early in the morning before it got crowded. Hart has multiple locations, and the one near the Little Mermaid was quite busy. 🥯 🛍️ I shopped at GANNI and found some Danish fashion treasures at the GANNI POSTMODERN discount store. I loved the architecture in Copenhagen and didn't get enough of it—I'll definitely be back in the summer! 🏙️ #food #Denmark #Copenhagen #CopenhagenTravel #CopenhagenFood #CopenhagenEats #MichelinRestaurant #FineDining #EuropeanTravel #FrenchCuisine
