Public Transport Guide to the Church of the Intercession in Vladimir

This guide was originally written in 2020 and has been updated with verified public transport info. To get from Vladimir city center 🚌: Take bus 152 – 30-minute ride, 17 stops. Get off at Bogolyubovo-3. You can also visit the Bogolyubovo Convent first (get off at Bogolyubovo-2, 16 stops 🏰 – the blue-domed white convent is easy to spot from the bus!). From there, walk along the road toward the outskirts. Set your navigation to “Church of the Intercession on the Nerl” 🧭 (you can enter it in Chinese). Next to the Bogolyubovo-3 bus stop, there’s a small path. To its left is a factory gate (looks like a logistics park 🏭). Enter and head toward the river. You’ll see railway tracks 🛤️. ⚠️ Important: Do NOT go left—there’s a bearded guard with a submachine gun stationed there. Instead, turn right or wait till other pedestrians show the way. There’s a hidden path crossing the tracks. After crossing, follow a trail through the woods 🌲➡️ that runs close to the river. Walk 1 km toward the church. In front of the church is a wide road flanked by wheat fields 🌾🛣️. On your return, it’s easy to miss the path back through the woods—mark your spot or take the main road. Note: The road near the church is not accessible by car 🚫🚗, but the above walking route also works if you drive and park nearby. There’s one road that looks passable but is actually blocked—we got stuck there the first time! Check the map carefully 🗺️❌. #Russia #Vladimir #OffTheBeatenPath #TravelGuide #HiddenGems ✨
