Pullman Bread – Las Vegas: It’s… Edible. 🍞🤷♀️
A fairly popular Japanese-style bakery offering sandwiches, onigiri (rice balls), small fried snacks, breads, and desserts. We’ve tried most of the items—overall, it’s… edible. Prices are a bit on the higher side, and the quality is just okay. The points system is pretty handy, though! While they claim to be open 24 hours, we’ve gone a few times outside peak hours and the selection was quite limited. Verdict: Edible. ✅ Pros: (1)Some onigiri are pretty good: fried chicken, fried shrimp, and mentaiko (spicy cod roe). The rest are just… edible. The fried shrimp stands out because the temperature is just right, so the shrimp stays tender. The fried chicken seasoning is decent, and the chicken itself is okay. 🍤🍙 (2)Sandwiches are generally not bad. The free-range egg and ham sandwich is quite tasty. The egg has a bit of flavor, especially with the mayo. 🥪🍳 (3)The shokupan (white bread) is edible. Not sure how much it costs, but if it’s expensive, it’s not worth it. We’ve had high-end Japanese shokupan before—this isn’t it. It just looks similar. Premium shokupan has many layers, a firm yet soft texture, a rich wheat aroma, and a subtle sweetness that melts in your mouth. This one… maybe slightly better than regular American supermarket white bread. Texture is average, flavor is minimal. If it’s cheap, it’s okay for simple things like peanut butter and jelly. 🥖🥜 (4)The tip options are only 1, 2, or $3—shocking! 💸 (5)The points system is great—you earn rewards quickly. ⭐ (6)Everything else is, at best, edible. No need to buy unless you’re hungry and need a quick bite. 🕒 Cons: (1)Items often sell out quickly, but they’ll always have something to sell you—just maybe not what you wanted. 🚫 (2)Occasional quality control issues—maybe some items are leftover from the day before? 😅 (3)Desserts aren’t worth trying. The small breads and fried snacks aren’t memorable either. You can totally skip these. 🍩🙈 (4)The plaza it’s located in isn’t great—parking is tough, and the road is always busy with lots of cars. 🚗💨 Visits: 4 times.
