My sister and I live about 12 minutes away from this bakery and have tried this bakery twice, and we enjoyed their onigiri and desserts. My younger sister liked it so much that she decided to turn in her resume and go in for an interview today. I waited in the car for about 20 minutes until she came back into my car.
She was in tears, telling me the things manager had said to her. He said, "You should watch interview videos because you didn't do well at all, it's so obvious you're nervous." he also told her, "It's people like you that make $12.00 an hour, there's a reason we pay $15 an hour here." I think the manager needs to learn how to talk to people without being degrading. If this is how he talks to strangers, I can't even imagine how he treats his employees inside the store.
I understand having expectations for your employees, but that's not right to say to someone. You definitely could have just told her "Thanks for coming in, but I do not think you suit the requirements of this role." Verbally bullying someone like that because they are shy and because you think so highly of paying your employees $15 an hour is crazy. You'll never find us supporting this business again.
Update: The individual who interviewed her was the business owner. Unfortunately, I had not...

You will not find Japanese cheesecakes here.
They have a great selection of breads, but not much variety, too much redundancy. Like 20 different things in one category.
I would rather have a limited selection with more variety. And it’s odd, that a Japanese bakery would not have a Japanese cheesecake (the style is considered a baked good).
I was craving sweet dessert, and they only had two items, so I picked up both: baked custard, pudding, caramel sauce: not creamy at all, and not sweet. Texture wise it was like firm jello, flavor wise it was bland espresso panna cotta: not sweet at all, which is fine. The problem was the texture and lack of flavor - it’s like instant coffee in gelatin. The texture, nor flavor did not work.
To be fair, I was here on a Sunday at 8PM.
So I’m willing to give them another shot. But based on this one experience, I cannot recommend this place to any foodie.
Ambiance: I liked the cozy space and ambiance.
My rating system: 5 stars: As good as it gets for the niche. Special. 4 stars: Great, I'm happy - I'll be back. 3 stars: Ok/average, I've had much better 2 stars: Something was off. 1 stars: Avoid/danger/regret, or I want my time...

The peanut butter and jelly sandwich is absolutely to die for, and if you’re an egg lover, you’ll be in heaven — they have a variety of delicious egg sandwiches made on incredibly fresh bread. The quality and flavor are next level.
Their specialty desserts are my personal favorite. The sushi-shaped rice triangles (I’m probably saying the name wrong!) are so unique and unbelievably good. I also love their strawberry cake and cream cup dessert — it’s one of the best sweet treats I’ve ever had.
The marbled breads and croissants are fantastic too — light, flaky, and full of flavor. Truly, you can’t go wrong with anything here.
On top of the amazing food, the staff is some of the friendliest I’ve ever encountered anywhere. Every single person greets you with a smile and genuine kindness. Everyone I’ve brought here before a flight has fallen in love with both the food and the service.
