Quebec Food Adventure | Mind-Blowing Pork Cheeks 😭
📍 L'Affaire est ketchup A super local gem with a daily changing menu (honestly, it feels like it depends on the chef’s mood 🤗). The menu is handwritten on a chalkboard—just one or two words per dish—and the owner personally explains each dish at your table. Super chill and cozy vibe. Reservations are a must! First, Let’s Talk About the Bread… Their house bread is insanely good 😭😭😭 The last time I had bread this delicious was at Jacob & Co in Toronto DT. We demolished the first basket so fast that the owner brought us two more slices 😁 The loaf was huge, and the server even playfully held it up for me when I took a pic—so warm and friendly! Starters Mozzarella: Toasted bread topped with herb-marinated tomatoes & eggplant, crowned with a whole mozzarella ball 🥹 So freaking good—I was salivating while editing the pics 🤤 Served with a side of eggplant purée—a nice little twist. Croquette Bison: A massive fried bison ball 😂 Most places serve small ones, but this was packed with flavor. Mains 🐷 Joue de Porc (Pork Cheeks): ‼️ABSOLUTELY DIVINE‼️ Tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. The sides were thoughtfully crafted: Baby potatoes (skin-on, steamed) Crispy bacon bits Exploding fresh peas (I almost gasped 😭) Crunchy fried onions that stayed crisp till the last bite A base of sweet potato mash—perfection. 🦞 Homard (Lobster with Barley): $40 for a whole lobster tail + 3 giant shrimp! I wasn’t expecting much at that price, but wow 😍 The barley was seasoned beautifully too. 🦆 Canard (Duck Confit): Tender, no gamey taste, and thick-cut—so good. Desserts Brownie with Cream: Warm, fudgy, and creamy—like a cross between mousse and truffle chocolate. Lemon Tart with Raspberry Sorbet: The buttery crust and smooth lemon filling were perfectly balanced—not too tart. The sorbet was naturally fruity (the owner called it "pie" when describing it 😂). Final Verdict? A 10/10 experience! Every dish was meticulously crafted, and the staff was incredibly warm. I’m usually a 15% tipper, but this place got 18%—that says it all! They also have an impressive wine selection (didn’t try due to health reasons, but next time for sure!). A restaurant that left me craving more 🤩 #CanadianCuisine #QuebecFood #FoodieFinds #TravelEats
