We came for Sunday brunch during Essence Fest, and even though the line was long — patience is totally worth it! If you can make a reservation in advance, definitely do. We ended up dining inside, while the terrace was buzzing with a lively DJ and party vibes 🎧🎉. Given the hot New Orleans July weather, I was really glad we chose to sit indoors where it was cool and comfortable. I ordered the catfish and grits, and my friend had the chicken and waffles. The food arrived so fast that I thought we might have gotten someone else's order! But no — it was hot, fresh, and absolutely ours 😋🔥. Both dishes were delicious and perfectly seasoned — the catfish was crispy outside and tender inside, and the chicken was juicy with a flavorful crust. The portions were generous, more than enough for the two of us. One note: keep an eye on your dining time and when service ends. The only downside was the restroom — barely maintained even though it was less than two hours after opening 🚻😕. I let the staff know one toilet was clogged, but they didn’t seem too concerned. So, just in case, maybe use the restroom before you come!
