Raccoon Creek State Park Hiking 🍂🥾
Autumn is in full swing 🍁, so we spent the afternoon hiking two trails at Raccoon Creek Park with friends. The forests and lakeside here are absolutely worth experiencing! Maple and oak trees are the stars of the season, shining brilliantly among red, green, yellow, and grey woods — a fleeting yet breathtaking beauty. It’s like a line from an old poem: “Mountains stretch emerald afar; sparse woods blaze with crimson leaves.” Years from now, I’ll still miss Pittsburgh’s autumns. 🧡 🅿️ Parking: Mineral Spring Loop Trail, Cabin Rd. From here, you can head east or west to start your hike. 📍 Mineral Springs Loop Trail ⏱️ Duration: < 45 mins A simple and relaxing trail with a forest path that leads to Mineral Springs (see pic 4). Some rocky sections — wear good shoes! 👟 📍 Lake Trail ⏱️ Duration: ~3 hours We went counterclockwise. The first half is a wide, easy walkway (Andrew joked it should be called a “walkway” 😂). The second half has more ups and downs — you’ll climb over small hills and weave through dense forest. If you’re short on time or energy, consider an out-and-back walk along the lake instead. Perfect day to embrace the fall colors and crisp air! 🍃📸 #Pittsburgh #PALiving #HikingTrails #FallHiking #RaccoonCreek #AutumnVibes #NatureLovers #OutdoorPA 🥾🍂
