Recommended Michelin Chinese Restaurants in Florence

After ten meals of pasta, steak, and pizza in Italy, I finally couldn't take it anymore and found the Michelin-recommended Chinese restaurant, Xinge!😻😻😻 I was torn about whether to spend €120 on soup dumplings, but after comparing it to the disappointing Chinese restaurants in Florence, I decided to give it a try. Overall, the food was delicious and creative, with a touch of Italian flavor that would appeal to Chinese tastes! However, you might want to look into ordering à la carte for better value. **Eight Courses** (menu attached at the end):❤️❤️❤️ - **Shrimp Chips with Caviar**: The oiliness and crunch of the shrimp chips paired with the salty umami of caviar was a novel combination. It was my first time having shrimp chips in a foreign country, and this pairing was quite unique.🤖🤖🤖 - **Soup Dumplings**: The highlight of the meal! These were the best soup dumplings I've ever had. The dough and the cooking were impeccable, and there were three fillings: - **Garlic Shrimp and Scallops**: The familiar taste of garlic shrimp, with real scallop and shrimp meat. It was a delightful twist on a classic. - **Foie Gras and Pork**: For a foie gras lover like me, the taste was unmistakable. The fat melted into a flavorful juice, making it incredibly aromatic. - **Sea Urchin and Pork**: Sweet and fresh, with no fishiness at all. It burst with flavor in every bite. - **Lychee Fried Shrimp Balls**: Served on a floral branch, six pieces at a time, this dish had a strong sense of ceremony. Inside were minced shrimp (very fresh!) and crunchy lotus root (or water chestnut?), paired with a plum sauce. It was delicious.😻😻😻 - **Dim Sum**: This dish seemed to mimic shrimp dumplings, green rice balls, and steamed dumplings. It was quite unique and hard to describe. The fillings had a slight Italian twist, like the green rice ball with mashed edamame. - **Spring Rolls**: Filled with foie gras paste and caviar, these had incredibly rich layers. A touch of wasabi helped cut through the richness. - **Lobster with Fried Pasta Crumbs**: A refreshing change from the usual butter-baked lobster. The dish featured a tangy pomelo and garlic sauce, which was very tasty. - **Soup**: Warm and comforting. - **Dessert**: Black sesame ice cream and a dessert soaked in alcohol, with a strong alcoholic flavor. The decor and the staff-to-guest ratio were also excellent. 🍴: **Il Gusto di Xinge** 📍: Viale Bel Fiori, 2 50144 Firenze FI #Florence #Italy #Michelin
