Recommended Off-the-Beaten-Path Park Near London with Free Admission
Osterley Park is part of the National Trust. You can get a free family pass (includes two adults and three children) by searching “how to get a free National Trust pass” on Google, filling out a form, and the electronic ticket will be sent straight to your email. No need to buy a newspaper. 📝📧 I’ve scoured through all the locations near the center of London and finally decided on this one. The best part is that it’s accessible by subway and offers beautiful natural scenery with fresh air! 🌳🌿 ➡️ Once inside the park, I found only a few people walking around and someone quietly reading a book. The weather wasn’t great the day I went, but it was still beautiful. Along the way to the big house, you can see horses 🐴, swans 🦢, and many other birds! 🦜 ➡️ You only need a ticket 🎫 to enter the building for a tour. Go to the ticket booth to exchange your electronic ticket for a paper one before entering. Inside, the elderly volunteers were really enthusiastic, offering to explain the history of each room in the house. For example, the elderly ticket checker greeted us and, upon learning it was our first time, gave us a patient overview. He mentioned that the house was originally a summer house and wasn’t inhabited year-round, leaving a super good impression. 🔥 ➡️ The back garden doesn’t have much, just wild paths that can get muddy when it rains, haha. It’s worth a stroll if the weather is nice. Next to it, there’s a bell tower with a large cafe and a gift shop where I even spotted a jellycat acorn. 🍂🛍️ ➡️ Some rooms inside the house are still being renovated and will only be fully open around mid-March. For now, these rooms can only be viewed from the doorway, with limited visibility. 🚧 🚇 Transportation: Get off at Piccadilly-Osterley Station and walk for about ten minutes. #ImmersiveParkExploring #FallinLoveWithParks #WalkingintheParkisSeriousBusiness #LondonParks #WeekendParkAdventures #OfftheBeatenPath #BritishLife #UKTravelGuide
