Reliable Montreal Bistro Worth Revisiting! 😎

During our road trip from Toronto to Old Quebec, we made a pit stop in Montreal. After visiting the art museum, we craved a nice dinner, but many French restaurants were fully booked. A local colleague recommended Ferreira Café, and despite the website showing no availability, we decided to walk in—and luckily scored a table! 🍽️ What We Ordered Starters (no photos—we were too hungry!) Artisanal Smoked Salmon with capers, red onions & lemon Daily Special: Baked Argentine Red Shrimp 🦞 (their specials change daily!) Mains: 1️⃣ Seafood Rice Casserole Tomato-based, light yet flavorful (not overly cheesy—perfect if you want seafood without heavy cream). The rice was perfectly tender, and the seafood was fresh. 2️⃣ Mushroom & Duck Confit Risotto (Port wine reduction) Crispy, fall-off-the-bone duck leg (huge portion—hard to finish!). Creamy, cheesy risotto with earthy mushrooms—so rich and satisfying! 🌟 Why It’s Worth a Revisit ✅ No-reservation luck: Walk-ins possible if you arrive early (opens at 5:30 PM). ✅ Cozy yet lively vibe: By 6 PM, the place was packed—mostly locals! ✅ Window seats = best ambiance (but limited; call ahead to check). Next time, I’m trying their grilled octopus and bacalhau (Portuguese salted cod)! 📍 Ferreira Café 1446 Rue Peel, Montreal, QC ⏰ Opens at 5:30 PM | 🍷 Great wine list #MontrealEats #FrenchPortuguese #SeafoodLover #RoadTripEats #MustTryMTL
