Restaurant August in New Orleans
I was debating between Emeril's and Nola Dakar, but couldn't get a reservation at the two-starred Emeril’s... Nola Dakar seemed more focused on experience, so I ended up switching to Restaurant August, recommended by Chase Sapphire. I still wanted to try local fusion cuisine. But as it turns out — the reviews were pretty accurate 😅. The whole menu felt like a high-end restaurant that just miniaturized every dish. The creativity felt forced, the flavors were okay but nothing special, and we even hit a few misses. It started strong — the cornbread with caviar butter peaked early 🍞✨. Crab + fat + seafood — how could it not taste good? But the desserts? A total waste of calories 😒. The granola tasted exactly like the kind I buy at the supermarket — I could've made it myself!
