Review of DuBu: A Super Popular Korean Restaurant in Philly

1333 W Cheltenham Ave #102, Elkins Park, PA 19027 🩷Located next to the old Hmart, we’ve been in Philadelphia for so many years and surprisingly never visited this place. We decided to check it out on a Friday night. Despite the rainy weather, the restaurant was packed! There were even people waiting for seats. The popularity is quite impressive. 🩷Army Stew (Soon Dubu): We used to have a Korean restaurant in Manayunk that my partner and I loved for their army stew. It’s all about the satisfaction! In my opinion, the soul of army stew is ramen noodles, but this version doesn’t have them. It feels a bit like a scam without the noodles! However, the tofu is incredibly tender and delicious, reminding me of the canteen at Tongji University. I think the tofu stew series here should be quite good, and it’s hard to go wrong with them. 🩷La Galbi: The sweet short ribs are really tasty and come in a generous portion. My partner and I couldn’t finish them and took the leftovers home. They were still delicious when reheated. Squid Bibimbap: The soul of bibimbap is the crispy rice at the bottom of the stone pot. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to enjoy that here, which was a bit disappointing. The squid is cut into small pieces. The seasoning is okay, but without the crispy rice, it’s just average. 🩷Complimentary Pre-Meal Side Dishes: The fried smelt is really generous and a big thumbs up. #AroundPhilly #PhillyExploration #FoodDiaryFromTheHills #FoodieDaily
