Rhode Island 2-Day, 1-Night Getaway from NYC 🌊
A perfect short trip to Rhode Island—filled with Italian food, sweet treats, campus vibes, Xinjiang cuisine, and coastal walks! Here’s the full breakdown 🗺️🍴 📍 Day 1: Providence Eats & Campus Vibes 🍝 Massimo Ristorante (Italian Cuisine) This spot is super popular on Xiaohongshu (Little Red Book)! They have an amazing lunch special: a 3-course meal for just $24—total value for money 🤑. Check out the menu in Photo 2 for all the tasty options! 🥧 Pastiche Fine Desserts (Fruit Tarts) The fruit tart shop is just a 10-minute walk from Massimo—super convenient! We walked in and grabbed a slice right away 😋. But here’s a tip: On the 26th, we checked their website to pre-order a whole tart, and found that all 8-inch whole tarts from the 27th to March 3rd were already sold out! If you want a whole tart, make sure to book it on their official website a few days in advance—don’t wait too late! ⏰ 🎓 Brown University Brown University is located on College Hill, and the campus is gorgeous! The surroundings are peaceful and scenic—you could easily spend 2+ hours wandering around, soaking in the relaxed college atmosphere 📚🌳. 🍜 Jahunger (Xinjiang Cuisine) We ordered their highly recommended Da Pan Ji (Spicy Braised Chicken with Potatoes)—it came in a huge portion, perfect for sharing! Heads up: They only open after 5 PM on weekdays, and Da Pan Ji is for dine-in only—no takeout allowed ❗ 📍 Day 2: Newport – Cliff Walk Adventure 🚌 Getting from Providence to Newport From Providence Downtown to Newport, you can take Bus Route 60—it takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes. The ride passes through small towns, and the views along the way are beautiful ☀️. Pro tip: Download the RIPTA WAVE app in advance to buy a Day Pass. You can scan the pass when you get on the bus, or pay with tap-to-pay/cash directly on board. After Route 60, transfer to Bus Route 67. ⚠️ Important note: Route 67 is no longer free—you’ll need to scan your pass or pay for this one too! 🌊 Cliff Walk To navigate Cliff Walk, set your GPS to the North End (this is the starting point). It takes about 40 minutes of walking to reach The Breakers mansion. You can also head to the South End if you want to explore more of the trail—either way, the ocean views are stunning! 🚶♀️ #RhodeIslandTravel #ProvidenceRI #NewportRI #NYCGetaways #FoodieTrip #CoastalAdventure
