🐚 RiverTwice – A Philly Seafood Spot

Now that it’s warm, I crave something raw every day — but also don’t want to feel stuffed. So here we are: a light, refreshing meal. Located on East Passyunk — this block has a few wabi-sabi style shops, quiet yet lively. They offer a 4-course set menu and à la carte — current theme is 100% Whole Spring (not sure if it's farm-to-table… didn’t ask because the staff from chef to waiter were all… not the friendliest 😐). Felt a bit rushed. 🍽️ À la carte dishes: • Beach Blonde Oysters – Tasted like the sea… salty. Not bad. • Raw Beef Aged – So good! Aged beef with a topping that tasted like braised lion’s head meatballs — nostalgic! 🥩💖 🥬 4-course menu: • Tartare of Striped Bass – Basically Lawson crab stick salad 😅. • Lightly Smoked Hiramasa – Delicious! Sushi rice + yellowtail + seaweed + tender peas. But why so much rice in the second course? 🍚 • Halibut from the Gulf of Maine – Fish was slightly dry, but tasty. The greens and asparagus were juicy and fresh. • Panna Cotta – Life-changing milk pudding… How to describe its silkiness? If regular panna cotta is like a 7-year-old’s cheek, this was like a 2-year-old baby’s cheek… so tender, so smooth 🍼. • Buckwheat Madeleine – Nutty and fragrant — I usually hate madeleines, but I apologize for my narrow-mindedness. 🍸 Four drinks: • Martini (can be dirty) – Too dirty — avoid if you’re not a fan. • One, Two Punch • Rhubarb Sour • SKIN CONTACT ‘naked’ orange, Heinrich All light and refreshing — I especially loved the last orange wine. Funny though: their cocktails are all pre-mixed in glass bottles — served in one second, keeping with the speedy vibe ⚡. #Philly #PhillyEats #SeafoodSpot #RiverTwice #DessertHeaven #FineDiningPhilly
