Rochester’s Green Oasis 🌿🏛️

Rochester, affectionately nicknamed “Roc City” 🏙️, gives off a calm and peaceful vibe—completely different from the hustle of NYC. Here, history whispers through the streets, and every corner tells a story. Driving through downtown, you’ll notice a fascinating mix of architectural styles—one moment you see sleek modern offices, the next, grand European-inspired buildings 🏛️✨. Yet everything blends together beautifully. Although I haven’t spent much time here, the lush greenery and relaxed atmosphere truly won me over. I absolutely love it here! 💚 📍 University of Rochester 🎓 I’m back at another university! There’s a saying: “Other people’s campuses always look better,” so I dropped by to soak up some scholarly vibes (okay, fine, I had time to kill before sunset 😅). The campus isn’t huge, and most buildings follow a classic red-brick-and-white-trim style. With few summer students around, the atmosphere was extra peaceful—a perfect quiet escape. 📍 Warner Castle 🏰 5 Castle Park, Rochester, NY 14620 This is a stunning historical castle inspired by Scottish architecture! Both the interior and exterior are serene and photogenic—a popular spot for local wedding photos 📸❤️. Note: It’s only open Tuesday through Thursday—plan ahead! 📍 George Eastman Museum 📸 900 East Ave, Rochester, NY 14607 What a surprise this place was! The museum has two main sections: one features works by photography masters and the evolution of cameras; the other is a breathtaking mansion and garden 🏡🌷. The mansion almost feels like a castle—I left dreaming of winning the lottery 🎰💸… Student discounts are available, so bring your ID! 📍 Ontario Beach Park 🌅 50 Beach Ave, Rochester, NY 14612 A beloved local park located right on the shores of Lake Ontario—yes, Canada is just across the water! 🇺🇸🇨🇦 It’s the perfect place to unwind, take a stroll, and end your day with a gorgeous sunset. There’s even more to explore in Rochester! Places like The Strong National Museum of Play 🧸 and Seneca Park Zoo 🐯 are highly recommended (especially for families), though I didn’t get to visit this time. Next trip for sure! #RochesterNY #UniversityOfRochester #RocCity #NewYorkState #TravelDiary #HiddenGems #USA
