Romance and Charm of Texas BBQ at Local Yocal
Local Yocal in downtown McKinney is undoubtedly a highlight of this historic district. The restaurant is housed in a former grocery warehouse, and its refined interior stands in stark contrast to its rugged exterior. Private dining rooms, a bar, and a patio are all available, offering a variety of atmospheres to enjoy. 🍽 Smoked Chicken Fried Steak was surprisingly delicious—crispy in texture and rich with the aromatic flavor of smoked Wagyu. Both accompanying sides also shone: the fresh green beans far surpassed the canned versions found at most other BBQ spots, while the mashed potatoes were fragrant with garlic. 🍽 Mac N’ Cheese is a fan favorite. Generously loaded with cheese and topped with Wagyu beef crumbs, this dish completely redefined my expectations for mac and cheese. 🍽 BBQ Meats We opted for a half-and-half of brisket and ribs. The ribs were noteworthy—tender and flavorful. The brisket, however, leaned toward the bland side and really needed the accompanying sauce to bring it to life. #McKinney#McKinneylife#McKinneyfood#McKinneytravel#foodguide#travelguide#TexasBBQ
