Every time I visit Eastern Europe, I feel an inexplicable familiarity—the dining habits here remind me so much of China's Northwest region. It's like coming home! This trip, I tried several local restaurants, and they were fantastic. Highly recommend if you're interested! ‼️ MUST-TRY: Romania's famous "Ciorbă de burtă" (tripe soup)—sour and savory, even my boyfriend who usually hates sour flavors loved it! Paired with bread, you'll easily finish a whole loaf. Available at most local restaurants—don't miss it! 🚫 Warning: The raw green peppers served on the side are extremely spicy! ♨️ ⭕️ Reminder: Bring your vaccine passport—most restaurants check it before seating you. 1️⃣ Caru' cu bere ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | ~150 lei/person 📍 Strada Stavropoleos 5 Recommended Dishes: Tripe soup Steak Ambiance: This restaurant is a converted church—imagine how grand it is inside! Perfect for vintage-style photos, every shot looks like a masterpiece. Tips: RESERVATIONS ARE A MUST! If you really can’t book, avoid peak hours. We went around 4-5 PM and got a table until 7 PM. By the time we left, the line stretched from the reception all the way to the street, with people even queuing inside the revolving door! 2️⃣ Beca's Kitchen ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | ~100 lei/person 📍 Strada Eminescu Mihai 80, Sector 2 Ambiance: A hidden gem—more like a cozy café. A small, artisanal spot with handwritten menus (Romanian & English on separate boards). The daily specials change! Tips: Portions are smaller, but each dish comes with bread—you won’t leave hungry. 3️⃣ Vatra ⭐️⭐️⭐️ | ~90 lei/person 📍 Strada Actor Brezoianu Ion N 19 Why Go? Famous for their lamb chops (we also tried fried pork cutlet). Won TripAdvisor’s "Best Restaurant" in 2019 (but mysteriously disappeared in 2020-2021?).
