Roosevelt Island: My New Favorite Escape in NYC! 🚠🍂

I finally found it—the place in New York that feels like a hidden sanctuary. Roosevelt Island is peaceful, clean, and incredibly beautiful. If you’re craving calm away from the city chaos, this is where you need to be. 🧡 Cornell Tech Campus: A Dreamy Academic Oasis We started at the Cornell Tech campus, and wow—I’m genuinely envious of the students here! The dorms feature floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the East River 🏞️, and the café is bathed in golden autumn light 🍁. The architecture is sleek, modern, almost futuristic. Studying here must feel like a dream! 🏨 Chic Vibe & Rooftop Views Nearby, a stylish hotel offers a gorgeous lounge on the first floor—think bookshelves lined with novels and deep red couches creating a cozy, intellectual atmosphere. Upstairs, the rooftop bar offers sweeping views of the East River. Perfect for a relaxed evening drink 🥂 (Note: They check ID—must be 21+). 🍝 Unexpected Culinary Delight We stumbled upon a lovely Western restaurant on the island and were blown away! We ordered matcha and tiramisu lattes ☕, followed by Greek-inspired layered dishes—one with pasta, the other with potato and eggplant. Absolutely delicious, and only around $25 per person! A true hidden gem 💎. 🌉 Riverside Stroll & Iconic Tram As the early winter sunset painted the sky, we walked along the river, watching the lights of the Upper East Side twinkle in the distance. The bridge looked like something straight out of a movie 🎬. I’d almost thought the tram had stopped running, but it actually operates until 3 AM! (You can use your MetroCard or Apple Pay). Next time, I’m riding the tram at sunset—pure magic. You can also take the ferry for an equally romantic route 🚢. Just a heads-up: with daylight saving time, sunsets come early—plan accordingly! Feeling so deeply in love with this place that I dream of swimming here after work… anyone else get that kind of connection to a place? 😭 Roosevelt Island, you have my heart. #RooseveltIsland #CornellTech #NYCViews #NYCWeekends #EscapeNYC #NYCLife #NYCFood #AutumnInNYC #NYCPhotography
