Updated review May 21, 2023: it is no longer worth it to come here. Very bad food at expensive prices. A main dish made of thawed Costco food shouldn’t cost $15. So many other places to buy food in the island for a lesser price at a higher quality. There was a change in the people too, and the new people are not nice. Review from 2022: Updated review to one star. You should not be blocking ADA entrance with stuff. See photo. Old review from 2019: Truly amazing people. People that work here are very nice. The only problem with the cafe is the amount of unattended children screaming and running like if they were in a playground, while the real housewives of RI enjoy their lunch.

I'm a regular. The café is my second office and a great place for meetings. It's quiet, incredibly scenic, the coffee better than Starbucks at half the price, and whatever food I've ordered has been above average to great. (Try the astonishing Cornell Ice Cream!)

The café's easy to get to, just a short walk from the Roosevelt Island Tram and subway and on the way to FDR Four Freedoms Park, but what may not get enough notice is that, when you're enjoying the free WiFi or just relaxing with the river to river views with both LIC and Manhattan skylines nearby, is that you're in the company of some of the brightest young minds in technology today, maybe the next Steve Jobs or Larry Ellison.

There's no other place in the world like it, and it's easy...

I suggested to some friends that we eat lunch at the Cafe. We ate there on Thursday, August 1, 2024. They had several items which all were put on one plate for $14. The chicken was totally overcooked, burnt, and dry. Couldn't even bite into to it. When I asked what was in another service tray I was told mushrooms. I asked that they add the mushrooms to my plate. Whatever they added it sure wasn't mushrooms which turned out to be something that was very stringy, almost like some overcooked meat. They added the cole slaw to the same plate which made everything soggy. Needless to say, I will never eat...
