Russian 🇷🇺 Travel Food Diary (Moscow Edition)
Fish Kultura offers incredibly cheap sea urchins, only 100 rubles each. The sea urchins are very fresh, cleaned well, and full of rich sea urchin roe. Thinking back to the expensive sea urchins I had in St. Petersburg, I can't help but shed tears of regret. The scallops are large, and the small squids are decent too. I ordered a homemade tea, probably made from sea buckthorn, which was still very sour even with added 🍯. Additionally, this place automatically adds a 10% service charge. Culinary shop of the Karavaev brothers offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and ☕ requires you to scan a QR code at a machine nearby with your receipt to self-serve. Most of the food is weighed, and I highly recommend the tiramisu, tuna rolls, and stir-fried udon. The liver cake (which looks a lot like a beef cake) should be approached with caution. They have set menus, which you can check on maps. There are discounts after 7 pm, and registered members can enjoy discounts and use points for payment. The Bull now costs 350 rubles, and it's the only place where 🆓 water is placed on the table during this trip. The steak is cooked medium-rare but is a bit tough and woody. The potato fries are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and the beef 🥗 has a lot of beef. Even though it wasn't peak dining time when I went, the place was almost full. They also sing a birthday song for those celebrating, albeit just a short phrase, which seems to mean "Happy Birthday" 🤔. Torro Grill is a steakhouse chain where I ordered the cheapest steak (lean and a bit tough) and the recommended spicy skirt steak (highly recommended, well-marbled, and juicy). The dark beer is excellent, with rich foam, and the 🥭 milkshake is also great, with a balanced sweet and sour taste. The waitstaff are very friendly, comparing the English and Russian menus when ordering to avoid mistakes. The cheapest steak has a set lunch special on weekdays, which they took the time to explain to us, even using a translation app. It includes a steak, sweet potato fries, and a pot of tea, priced the same as ordering a la carte, with a mandatory tip. Bakinskij domik seems to be a Turkish restaurant, not far from the hotel, so I gave it a try. It's open 24 hours, and the place is quite large. Although there were only three tables of guests, the resident singer still performed three songs (which were quite pleasant to listen to), and a local elderly lady even got up to 💃🏻. The beef tongue 🥗 has a lot of beef tongue, and the borscht is a bit salty (it seems all restaurants are salty, maybe I eat lightly), but the stewed beef tenderloin is very tender and delicious with 🌶️ sauce. This restaurant only accepts cash, so I was glad I had withdrawn some 💰 that day instead of keeping it in the card. Manufaktura1858 in the town of Sergiev Posad is known for its delicious roasted pork ribs. It was 🌧️ that day, so I decided to give it a try. The pork ribs are incredibly tender, with a sweet glaze on the outside and a smoky flavor. Moremania is a chain of affordable seafood restaurants where you find your own seat and order by scanning a QR code and downloading an app. The grilled fish is freshly grilled, and the separate seasoning tastes like parsley, which is very refreshing. Oysters can be a bit fishy, depending on personal preference. The seafood soup is good, and you can add prawns, which aren't too salty. The squid tentacles are plentiful and not fishy. The seafood pasta is average; maybe I prefer more 🧀. #RussianTravel #RussianFood #MyTravelDiary
