Sacramento is such a photogenic spot — it gives major Westworld vibes!

While there are more and more overhyped check-in spots around the Bay Area, this one is definitely NOT one of them! Old Town Sacramento and the Tower Bridge area are not only fun to explore but also incredibly picturesque. The French-style architecture spanning several blocks looks almost identical to New Orleans’ French Quarter. The Tower Bridge, famously featured in Lady Bird, already has such a cinematic feel. And wandering through Old Town, I kept feeling like I’d stepped right into a scene from Westworld — it was surreal! 🎬 The town is also full of vintage elements: steam locomotives, railroad tracks, a Ferris wheel, large typography walls… everything makes for a gorgeous photo. Golden hour (the two hours before sunset) is absolutely magical for shooting. 🌇 Also highly recommend this hidden Shanghai restaurant tucked among all the American diners and bars in Old Town: 📍 I Shanghai Delight Sacramento 1115 Front St, Sacramento, CA 95814 Their soup dumplings, pan-fried buns, scallion oil noodles, sticky rice with lotus root, and clear-boiled shrimp are all delicious! 🥢🤤 It’s less than a 2-hour drive from SF or the South Bay (traffic permitting), making it perfect for a day trip. You can park at the Tower Bridge Garage — it’s around $4 per hour, but make sure you keep your parking ticket safe. If you lose it, it’s an automatic $24 fine… don’t ask me how I know #BayAreaWeekends #ExploreNorCal #CoffeeLovers #PhotoSpots 🌉📸
