Salt Lake City|Hiking to the Wild Hot Springs: Fifth Water Hot Springs
📍Fifth Water Hot Springs Trail This is a completely natural hot spring with super warm water—perfect for relaxing after a day of skiing! 🎿✨ 🌟 About the Hike During winter, the last mile of the road to the trailhead is closed. The one-way hike to the springs is about 3.3 miles, featuring a relatively gentle uphill path. It takes roughly 1.5 to 2 hours one way, and you’ll need to return via the same route. The trail can be very slippery, so microspikes are essential! ⚠️❄️ Be sure to plan your time carefully and finish before dark. Parking is limited—it’s best to start early in the morning. The hot springs can get crowded in the afternoon, so an early visit ensures a more peaceful experience. 🌟 Additional Tips As this is a natural hot spring, there are no changing facilities. Bring your own towel, flip-flops, and plenty of water. 💧🩴 There are several naturally formed pools, each with slightly different temperatures—so you can choose your favorite! 🌡️💖 I read on the official website that the springs once had issues with toxic algae, but it seems to be managed now. The algae typically grow on rocks along the edges, and some pools have plastic coverings for safety. To be extra cautious, avoid leaning directly against the pool walls. (It’s said the water looks most beautiful in autumn and winter—I haven’t verified that myself, but summer might not offer the same magical vibes! 😄) #FitnessCommunity #SkiSaltLakeCity #WinterHotSprings #HotSpringsInSnow #RecommendedHikingTrails #SaltLakeCityTravel #USATravel #SoakingInSnow #SnowHikingAdventure #MountainHotSprings
