Last year, I tried the trendy Spanish restaurant Finca in Salt Lake City, and their paella was a letdown—bland and overly fishy. The only thing I still remember liking was their freshly fried churros, haha! 😂 This year, I explored another Spanish spot in Utah. Their paella requires advance reservation, and they offer meat-based versions for those who aren’t into seafood. I went for the all-meat option—rich, flavorful, and layered. Except for the chicken being a bit dry, it totally outshines Finca! Their tapas are also noteworthy. My favorite was the smoked bacon-wrapped dates drizzled with a cream sherry sauce. The dates were roasted until soft and sweet, paired with salty bacon—a perfect sweet-savory combo that made my day! 🥳 Gambas (shrimp tapas) is a classic, but instead of the olive oil version, I tried the creamy sauce one. It was tasty, but the shrimp felt slightly overcooked.🌿☀️ The olive oil-seared octopus was surprisingly tender—rare to find it this soft! The seasoning was simple and traditional, though it felt a bit heavy without wine.
