Salt Lake City Chinese Food|Ate at Mom’s Kitchen Two Days in a Row 🧑
Drove all the way from Arizona to SLC — tired and hungry, so we headed straight to Mom’s Kitchen, which came highly recommended. Loved it so much we went back the next day! 🔹 Taiwanese Fried Rice Noodles 🥢 As recommended — so good we ordered it both days! The noodles are dry, fluffy, and not greasy, with plenty of veggies and shredded pork. Every bite with cabbage feels fresh and satisfying. (Skip if you dislike cilantro or mushrooms.) 🔹 Lamb Hot Pot 🍲 Huge portion! Cabbage, glass noodles, and tofu underneath, topped with a generous layer of lamb. Comes with sesame paste for dipping. The broth is fragrant and not too salty — perfect for warming up after a ski day! 🔹 Three-Cup Chicken 🐔 Tasty and goes well with rice, but a bit heavy for me with a hint of numbing spice — different from the Cantonese version I’ve had. 🔹 Pork & Vermicelli Stew 🐷 Fatty pork slices with wide crystal noodles (not soft and sticky) and cabbage. Not super flavorful with rice, but decent on its own. 🔹 Garlic Cabbage 🥬 Forgot to take a photo, but highly recommended! Crisp, lightly seasoned, not too garlicky (good for those who don’t love strong garlic). 🔹 Dry Pot Cauliflower 🌶️ Pictured as organic cauliflower on the menu but came as white cauliflower — tasted more like stir-fry than dry pot, and a bit spicy for me. Overall, the food here is great! Heard it’s run by Taiwanese and Northern Chinese owners, so the menu is quite varied. Service was just okay. Many recommend their beef pancake roll too — worth a try! Personally felt the Taiwanese dishes stood out more (maybe because I’m from the south 😄). 🥡 Mom's Kitchen 📍 2233 State St, Salt Lake City, UT 84115, United States #SaltLakeCityFood #SLCChinese #TaiwaneseFood #NorthernChinese #PorkStew #SLC #Skiing
