Salt Lake City Fine Dining — Valter's Osteria 🍝✨
A charming Italian restaurant that requires phone reservations — no online booking system. Walking in on weekends isn’t recommended. Their service is exceptional, with plenty of tableside preparation. Pasta arrives in pans from the kitchen and is plated right at your table. Appetizers and salads are also portioned tableside. If you want to share a main, tell your server when ordering — they’ll split it for you beautifully. After all, you’re paying for the experience — might as well enjoy it fully! 🍞 To start: Complimentary bruschetta, then bread with a garlicky dipping sauce. The bruschetta tomatoes were fresh and tasty — gone in just a few bites. 🍝 Pasta Sampler Special — Four pastas in one main-dish portion: Butternut ravioli, spinach ravioli, gnocchi in spicy sauce, angel hair in lemonchello. Ravioli and gnocchi were delicious, but the angel hair was a bit too tangy for me. They have another sampler without the angel hair — might be the better pick. 🦐 Salsicce E Mare — Seafood was incredibly fresh and tender, generous portion too. Shelling is a bit of work, but they provide tools and lemon water for your fingers. Would order this again in a heartbeat! 🍫 Dessert: Free biscotti with dark chocolate dipping sauce — rich and pure, perfect for dark chocolate lovers. 🍨 Their gelato comes in nearly ten flavors. We tried mixed berry — fruity and not too sweet. 📄 One small gripe: The menu is quite Italian-heavy and not the easiest to parse. Online versions are incomplete, so it’s hard to prep in advance. #ItalianFood #RestaurantRecommendation #GlobalFoodieSquad #SaltLakeCity #SLCEats 🥂
