Salt Lake City Food - Chinese Cuisine Edition

I spent two weeks in Utah at the beginning of the year for skiing. Everyone says Salt Lake City is a food desert, with even fewer good Chinese food options. After two weeks, I found that Chinese food choices were indeed limited. I also encountered some interesting surprises, like an American uncle running a Japanese Ramen shop, a Vietnamese-owned Shanghai Cafรฉ (fake Chinese food ๐Ÿ˜ฑ), Southeast Asian-run Thai food spots, and even a Chinese-owned Korean BBQ place ๐Ÿ˜‚. Still, I discovered a few great Chinese restaurants and wanted to share my recommendations. Sadly, I forgot to take photos of many dishes! Sasa Kitchen ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸโœจ I hardly saw this place mentioned but we all agreed it was the biggest surprise of the trip! You must try their noodles and soups ๐Ÿœ. We went twice, and as someone whoโ€™s eaten countless noodle dishes, I was genuinely moved by their sour and spicy noodlesโ€”so delicious! Their Guilin rice noodles, hand-pulled noodles, and braised noodles are also fantastic. Thereโ€™s nothing better than a hot bowl of noodles after a day of skiing ๐Ÿ˜. They also serve ร  la carte dishes, but those didnโ€™t leave as deep an impression. Momโ€™s Kitchen ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ We visited twice, and their sour and spicy shredded potatoes tasted just like home! ๐Ÿฅ” The dry-pot cauliflower, three-cup chicken, and braised pork ribs with potatoes were all delicious. Chinese Taste ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ The flavors here are quite authentic. We ordered the big plate chicken and mapo tofu, both of which were great. But the four stars are for their grilled fishโ€”tasty, generous portions, and so much cheaper compared to the Bay Area! ๐ŸŸ๐Ÿ’ฐ One More Noodle House ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸโœจ A delicious and affordable noodle spot, though the wait can be a bit long. ๐Ÿ• OMBU Grill ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸโœจ A Chinese-owned Korean BBQ buffet. The biggest plus is the priceโ€”itโ€™s super cheap! The meat quality is decent, but the service is slow, the ventilation isnโ€™t great, and cleanliness feels average. Still, itโ€™s a good option for guys who want to eat a lot of meat without breaking the bank ๐Ÿฅฉ๐Ÿ”ฅ. #SaltLakeCity #SLC #Food #SaltLakeCityFood #ChineseFood #TravelEats
