🍣 Salt Lake City Japanese — Takashi

The famous
 the renowned
 Takashi! Honestly
just okay 😅 After returning from Yellowstone, we craved Japanese food. Scrolling through I saw so many people recommending Takashi in downtown SLC, calling it the “best Japanese in the city.” So off we went! The sweet shrimp (amaebi) and uni (sea urchin) were the best — sweet, creamy, almost like ice cream 🍩. But everything else was
meh. Especially the tuna — really disappointing. We ordered toro, and it wasn’t good đŸ„č — didn’t have that melt-in-your-mouth fattiness you’d expect. The sashimi platter was just average, and some pieces were honestly not tasty at all. The place is definitely popular — opens at 5:30 PM, we arrived at 5:15, and there was already a long line out front. Seemed mostly filled with local white-collar workers. If you do go, come early. Verdict: Overhyped, wouldn’t really recommend. If you go with no expectations and just order sweet shrimp & uni, you might enjoy it. But if you arrive with high hopes, you might leave as disappointed as I did 😂. 💰 Price: ~$80+ per person for two. #SaltLakeCity #SaltLakeCityFood #Takashi #JapaneseFood #Foodie #FoodFail
