Salt Lake City Ramen Spot — Mensho Ramen
Tried Mensho Ramen in SLC based on recommendations. Went for lunch on Saturday — they open at 12 PM, arrived at 12:30 PM and already had to wait 35 minutes in line. The dishes were visually beautiful, but the taste was just okay for me. 🍣 A5 Wagyu Ikura Sushi Way too much ikura (salmon roe) — looked great for photos but tasted overly salty and completely masked the wagyu flavor. Couldn’t even taste the A5 beef — all roe. 🔥 Teppen Grilled Hotate Butter Basically seared scallops in butter — also too salty for my liking. 🍜 Ramen (Wagyu Shoyu & Garlic Knock Out) Both felt quite greasy. Noodles are handmade but lacked chewiness — guess I prefer thinner noodles. 💸 Total for these four dishes + tax + tip came to around $150. Considering the wait and price, the value didn’t quite hit the mark for me. Pretty to look at… but won’t be returning. #JapaneseFood #SaltLakeCityFood #SLCNoodles #StudentEats #FoodExplore #SLCGuide 📸
