Salzburg|The Afterglow is Real!
Just a short drive from Munich—under two hours 🚗—so we did a day trip. Though time was limited, we kept it relaxed. This city is full of artistic vibes 🎨, perfect for slow exploration. There are also many charming little shops selling crafts, clothes, and handmade chocolates 🍫. 🏰 Hohensalzburg Fortress 🎫 Ticket: €14 for basic entry (we hiked up—steep but great exercise!). A funicular ticket is also available. 🕰️ Opening hours: 9:30 AM - 5:00 PM I’ve always felt that climbing high for a panoramic view is a must in a new city 🌆. Even on a cloudy day, it was stunning. The fortress has four viewing areas (A-D). History or museum lovers should allow extra time! ⛪ Salzburg Cathedral 🎫 Ticket: €5 🕰️ Opening hours: Mon-Sat 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Sun 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM This 17th-century Baroque cathedral is the most important religious building in Salzburg. Known for its grand twin towers, exquisite frescoes, and massive dome—absolutely beautiful and worth a visit. 🍽️ Restaurant & Café Recommendations 🍴 Gasthof Goldgasse: Cozy atmosphere 🏮. If you want to try traditional Austrian cuisine, don’t miss it! We walked in without a reservation. ☕ Cafe Tomaselli: Its popularity is well-deserved—the cakes are delicious! 🍰 Highly recommend the two cakes in the photo (top row)—sweet but not overly so, perfect with coffee 😋. #Salzburg #AustriaTravel #SalzburgDayTrip #MunichDayTrip #EuropeanRoadTrip 🇦🇹✨
