📍San Antonio|🎄 5-Day Christmas Trip in Texas

📍 Mission San Jose The largest and best-preserved of San Antonio’s five Spanish missions, built in 1720 and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. With its Baroque-style church, stone walls, defensive structures, granary, mill, workshops, and living quarters, it feels like stepping back 300 years! Free 45-minute guided tours are available daily at 10 AM and 11 AM — great for diving into the history. As part of the National Park Service, everything from parking to admission is free! 🏛️✨ 📍 Mission Concepción Similar to Mission San Jose, this mission was also built in the 18th century by the Spanish to strengthen control over Texas and counter French influence. Though not as fully preserved, its church is still active today. 📍 Historic Market Square San Antonio’s most Mexican-flavored little market — indoors for crafts, outdoors for restaurants. Highly recommended! We spent a long time here and bought lots of souvenirs 🛍️🌮. 📍 Mi Tierra A vibrant Mexican restaurant with 24,000 reviews and a 4.4 rating, right inside Historic Market Square. From the decor and music to the colorful atmosphere, the energy is infectious! We ordered beef fajitas with onions, tomatoes, guacamole, rice, cheese, and bean sauce — rolled into corn tortillas for a delicious bite! Also tried menudo (tripe soup) with a unique flavor, large corn kernels, and a tangy twist, plus quesadillas with chicken, cheese, and guacamole — cheesy but not heavy at all. 😋🧀 📍 The Alamo Originally a mission like the others, aimed at assimilating Native peoples, it later evolved into a military site during the 19th century and played a key role in the Texas Revolution. We booked a guided tour in advance — $48 per person for about an hour — and learned so much rich history. Highly recommend! 🎖️📚 #SanAntonio #Travel #Christmas #HolidayGetaway #Texas 🎄🌵🌟
