San Antonio|A Cozy French Spot Perfect for Dates

Located in the Pearl District 🍐✨, this French brasserie was once so popular you couldn’t walk in without a reservation. But when we went for dinner on a Friday recently, it wasn’t even full — even with a reservation, you could probably walk in now. 🍽️ Appetizers: Roasted Bone Marrow & Cheese Baguette with Cornichons Bone marrow spread on toast — rich and oily, but nothing special. Cheese baguette with ham and pickles is classic, but not memorable. 🍗 Mains: ✨ Duck Leg Confit with Potatoes – My favorite! 🦆💖 Crispy skin, tender meat, tasty sauce, and perfectly cooked potatoes. I’ve tried seven dishes here and would still order this again. ✨ Steak Frites – Decent but unremarkable. Why fries by default? Could be better with mash or veggies. ✨ Mussels – Light broth, small mussels but generous portion. Great for sharing over drinks 🍷. ✨ Lobster Pasta – Highly recommended by the server, but even as a lobster skeptic, I wasn’t wowed. ✨ Roast Chicken with Potatoes – Crispy skin, juicy meat, same tasty potatoes as the duck dish. Solid choice if you’re not into duck. 🍨 Dessert: Birthday treat — profiteroles with vanilla ice cream and hot chocolate sauce 🍫🍦. Chocolate hardens over the ice cream — not too sweet, though the pastry was a bit hard. 🅿️ Parking: First 2 hours free in the garage. Mon–Fri before 2 PM: free all day. Weekends: $3–$10 depending on time. 📍 Brasserie Mon Chou Chou 312 Pearl Pkwy, San Antonio, TX 78215 #FrenchCuisine #DateNightSpot #VibesOnly #LifeInTexas
