San Antonio|A Simple Noodle Shop with Unexpectedly Amazing
It had been a while since I last ate here. When they first opened, their noodles were hand-pulled 🍜, but later they switched to machine-pressed noodles — the texture just wasn’t the same, so I stopped coming for a time. Recently, though, a friend raved about their “Husband and Wife Lung Slices” 👫🥩, so I decided to give it another try — and wow, it really is delicious! ▫️ Husband and Wife Lung Slices – Highly recommended! It has tripe, beef stomach, and very thinly sliced beef with a bit of tendon — the textures are fantastic! The seasoning is just right: aromatic, spicy, and a little numbing. So addictive, I couldn't stop eating it 😋. Next time, I’ll order this even if I skip the noodles. ▫️ Noodles – Lamb Noodles & Clear Broth Beef Noodles Both were tasty! I usually prefer thin noodles, and the menu lists “Mao Xi” (hair-thin), though they aren’t super thin — still good though. Portions are modest — just right for one person, unlike Lucky’s where one bowl can feed two. ▫️ Dumplings Just okay for me. They’re big and the filling is very dense, almost like a meatball — too chewy and heavy. I prefer smaller dumplings with looser, more delicate fillings. ▫️ Roujiamo (Chinese Burger) Better than the dumplings, but not as good as Lucky’s version. The bun is quite dense — more like unleaded dough, lacking that fluffy, airy texture. The filling is decent though. The decor is simple Chinese style, and the kitchen is semi-open so you can see the cooking — everything looks clean. It’s a cozy, no-frills noodle spot, perfect for a quick meal after work when you don’t feel like cooking. At lunchtime, it can get busy, so you might have to wait a bit for a table ⏳. 📍 Mian #SanAntonioChineseFood #AroundSanAntonio #SanAntonio #SanAntonioFood #SanAntonioLife
