San Antonio|An Adorably Delicious Pizza Spot
Today I tried this super tasty pizza shop 🍕! I’ve been to a lot of pizza places with coworkers, and honestly, I’m usually a Domino’s fan (yes, I like pineapple on mine 🍍… probably enough to upset an Italian or two 😅). But this little spot is one I really want to share — a true hole-in-the-wall gem, and apparently it’s been named one of America’s Top 50 Pizza Places according to a Yelp review! Walking in, the entrance is covered in grapevines 🍇, with string lights, outdoor seating, and even a little herb garden in the back. There are also a few big fig trees — love the cozy, self-sufficient vibe 🌿✨. The shop itself is small. A chalkboard lists wines for sale 🍷 (maybe made from their own grapes?). The kitchen is completely open, so while waiting, you can watch them toss salads and bake pizzas. Everyone — servers, salad makers, pizza chefs — was super friendly. I leaned against the counter watching the chef prep, and he even explained how he was hollowing out zucchini, shredding it into strips, and mixing it with house-made dressing for the salad 🥒. The whole workspace was clean and satisfying to watch. ✨ Pizzas are baked fresh in a wood-fired oven — and oh, are they good! I ordered the lunch combo: a small pizza + sweet tea + salad. ▫️ Salad – Simple and fresh with olive oil and vinegar dressing, lettuce, onion, and sweet radish. Light and refreshing 🥗. ▫️ Sweet tea – Pretty good! ▫️ The star: the small pizza – I got sausage & pepperoni, and it was amazing! 🍕 The sausages might be house-made (they were hanging in the fridge!). The pizza is tiny — honestly the smallest personal pizza I’ve had. For the price, at Domino’s I could get a large that lasts me two days 😂… but the flavor here is totally worth it. The tomato sauce and cheese are perfectly balanced, and the crust is chewy, crispy, and fragrant at the same time. I usually don’t love thin crust, but this one won me over. 📍 Il Forno #SanAntonio #SanAntonioFood #SanAntonioTravel #PizzaLovers
