San Antonio|Mediterranean Restaurant 🛖|Pasha
This big chain feels like the Mediterranean version of Chipotle 🌯🇬🇷 (though their express locations fit that vibe even better). The dining area was quiet — no background music, and we sat by the window. Felt a bit like we were on display 😅. Service was minimal — our water glasses stayed empty for a while with no refill in sight 🚰. They serve complimentary flatbread, but it was thin and bland. Even with olive oil and cheese for dipping, it didn’t compare to the tasty naan from that Indian buffet I tried last time. 🍽️ What we ordered: ▫️ Chicken Shawarma Build-Your-Own Pasha Bowl Base: Barberry rice (tasted more like cranberry rice — white + yellow rice with dried cranberries). Salad: Shirazi salad (cucumber, tomato, onion with a hint of mint 🥒🍅) — fresh and light! Sauce: Hummus — slightly tangy, great for dipping the flatbread or mixing into rice. Protein: Chicken shawarma — flavor was okay, but the chicken was dry and overcooked 😕. Not recommended. Next time I’d try the shrimp! ▫️ Beef Shawarma Plate Similar to the bowl but pre-set with hummus, rice, and veggies. The beef was much more tender than the chicken — way better! ✅ ▫️ Chicken Shawarma Plate Came with a salad instead of rice — healthier but still dry chicken. ▫️ Chicken Kabob Meh. Veggies were overcooked, rice portion was huge, chicken again dry. Skip it 🙅♂️. ▫️ Lamb Chops I thought they were pretty tender! A bit gamey for me, but my lamb-loving friend said they were overcooked — medium would’ve been better. Came with green rice (better than the plain white rice!). 📍 Pasha #SanAntonio #SanAntonioFood #MediterraneanEats
