San Antonio|That Addictively Savory Salted Fish Fried Rice 🍚

I went around 7–8 PM, and the place was pretty empty — only one other table. The decor has a cozy Asian vibe, especially the wooden booth-style nook along the wall. With some curtains, it’d feel like a private little dining space 🏮. ✨ Pho – The noodle portion was just right, and they didn’t feel clumped together — probably freshly blanched. But maybe because it was later in the evening or they were in a rush, the broth wasn’t very hot… just warm, which affected the overall feel 🍜. Taste-wise, it was okay — not amazing but not bad either. ✨ Fried Spring Rolls – A must-order for me at any pho place! I used to love Taste of Asia’s spring rolls, but after the ownership changed, they’ve gone downhill 😔. Pho Sure’s spring rolls were a pleasant surprise! Though the portion was small, the flavor was great — super crispy wrapper and well-seasoned filling. The dipping sauce had a bit too much fish sauce (a little funky 🐟), but adding some chili sauce made it better 🌶️. ✨ Salted Fish Fried Rice – Maybe expectations were too high, so it didn’t blow me away at first… but the taste grew on me 🌊🍚. It had a coastal vibe, yet reminded me of the salted fish we eat in Hubei during Lunar New Year 🎏 — that familiar savory, preserved flavor mixed with dried seafood notes. It was a bit on the salty side for me, but if you’ve never tried it, it’s worth a taste — very different from your usual Yangzhou fried rice! Overall: The unexpectedly delicious fried spring rolls were the highlight! The salted fish fried rice was also good, just a tad salty. Not a must-drive destination, but if you’re nearby, it’s worth stopping by 😊. 📍 Pho Sure #SanAntonio #Pho #SanAntonioFood #UTSA #LifeInNorthAmerica #VietnameseFood
