San Antonio|The Legendary Pelicana Chicken 🍗

Actually, it’s a new branch of a famous Korean fried chicken chain in SA! The original brand started in Korea back in 1982 — that makes it basically a century-old franchise by now, right? 😄 We went on a weekend and it was packed — waited about an hour ⏳. Ordered two flavors of wings, tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), and sweet potato fries. The owner even gave us free fried dough balls 🍩, and every table gets a small side of coleslaw with mayo 🥗. Currently, they only have wings — maybe they’ll add breast fillets or other cuts later. We tried: 🧀 Cheese Wings – Not what I expected! The cheese powder tasted more like milk powder than melted cheese, and it was dry, not stretchy. 🔥 Signature Sweet & Spicy Wings – My favorite! Classic Korean fried chicken flavor with a nice crispy skin 🍯🌶️. 🍡 Tteokbokki – Pretty good, though the rice cakes were a bit firm. The fish cakes inside were delicious! 🍠 Sweet Potato Fries – Could’ve been crispier — needed a bit more frying time. 🍩 Fried Dough Balls (complimentary) – Tasted like filled donut holes — so good! 🥕 Pickled Radish – Comes with every order of wings (no free refills — extra is $2). Not sure about coleslaw refills — if anyone knows, drop a comment! 💬 This place feels perfect for cooler weather — grab takeout, open a beer or sparkling water, binge K-dramas, and enjoy that crispy, saucy chicken 🍻📺✨. 📍 Pelicana Chicken 5999 De Zavala Rd #123, San Antonio, TX 78249 #RestaurantRecommendation #FriedChicken #KoreanFood #FoodieCheckIn #FoodieLife
