San Antonio | Mediterranean Restaurant ๐ | Pasha
Iโd call this large chain the "Mediterranean version of Chipotle" โ though to be precise, their express locations fit that description even better. The vibe inside was quiet โ no music, and we sat by the window. It felt a bit like we were on display ๐ช๐. Service was pretty much nonexistent โ our water glasses stayed empty for a long time with no one around to refill. They served complimentary flatbread โ thin and pretty plain. Though they offered olive oil and cheese for dipping, it didnโt compare to the naan from that Indian buffet we had last time. Hereโs what we tried: โซ๏ธ Chicken Shawarma Build-Your-Own Pasha Bowl Base: I chose barberry rice โ basically white rice with some yellow rice and dried cranberries. Salad: Went with Shirazi (cucumber, tomato, onion) โ refreshing with a hint of mint ๐ฟ. Sauce: Hummus โ slightly tangy, great for dipping the flatbread or mixing with rice. Protein: Chicken shawarma โ decent flavor but dry and overcooked โ. Not recommending. Next time Iโll try the shrimp โ looked better! โซ๏ธ Beef Shawarma Plate Similar to the bowl but comes with hummus, rice, and veggies. The beef was much tender and juicier than the chicken โ ๐ recommend! โซ๏ธ Chicken Shawarma Plate Salad instead of rice โ a healthier option. โซ๏ธ Chicken Kabob Just okay โ poorly grilled veggies, a mountain of rice, and again, dry chicken. Skip it โ. โซ๏ธ Lamb Chops Pretty tender, though a bit gamey for me. My lamb-loving friend said it was overcooked โ wouldโve been better medium. The green rice on the side was tastier than the plain rice. Pasha is a decent spot if youโre craving Mediterranean fast-casual, but temper your expectations on service and meat moisture ๐ . #SanAntonioEats #MediterraneanFood #UTSA #FoodReview #TexasEats #MediterraneanBowl
