San Antonio Chinese Food – MIAN
This Shanxi noodle restaurant seems to be one of San Antonio’s newer additions in recent years. After seeing many recommendations, we decided to give it a try. We had just sat down when we saw the server bringing two plates of what looked like Husband and Wife Lung Slices to the table behind us — two young people each polishing off a whole plate! 🥢👀 We knew right then we had to try it. Here’s what we ordered: 1️⃣ Husband and Wife Lung Slices 🥩 This cold appetizer was seriously delicious — possibly the most authentic-tasting version we’ve had in the U.S.! They mix sliced beef and tripe with chili bean paste, cilantro, and scallions — a preparation we haven’t seen anywhere else. Not only does it save you from mixing it yourself, but it’s also incredibly flavorful! If their cold dishes are this good, the Spicy Pig Ear is probably worth trying next time. 2️⃣ Lanzhou Hand-Pulled Noodles in Clear Broth 🍜 Very authentic! The broth was rich and savory, the scallions and cilantro finely chopped, and the beef tender and soft. Definitely top-tier for Lanzhou beef noodles in the U.S. They offer three thickness options for the noodles, and if you like heat, you can add Chinese chili sauce from the table. 3️⃣ Shanxi-Style Lamb Noodles 🍜 Our favorite dish of the meal! The lamb was aromatic, cut into small flavorful pieces, and the broth was rich and delicious. After we finished most of it, we ordered a crispy baked sesame flatbread, broke it into pieces, and soaked it in the lamb broth — absolutely heavenly! The flaky bread soaked up all that savory soup… total comfort food bliss. 😋🔥 4️⃣ Pork and Scallion Potstickers (to-go) 🥟 We also took some pork potstickers home. The filling was generous and fragrant, though by the time we got back they weren’t crispy anymore. Best enjoyed fresh at the restaurant! 📍 Restaurant: Mian Noodles and Dumplings 🌟 Final thoughts: This might just be the most authentic and delicious Northwest-style noodle spot we’ve tried in Texas. If you love hand-pulled noodles, don’t miss it — next time we’re definitely trying their Rougamo (Chinese burger)! 🥙 #TexasSanAntonio #SanAntonio #SanAntonioFood
