San Antonio Food Review | Pinkerton's Barbecue 🍖🔥

My friend is leaving the U.S. next month, so we thought – you can’t visit Texas without trying real BBQ! We called at 5 PM and were told the wait was 30 minutes… but when we arrived at 5:30, we ended up standing in line for a full hour and a half 😅. No modern systems here – just good old-fashioned waiting! Once inside, it felt like a BBQ cafeteria – you move from station to station picking what you want. All the meat is smoked together and sold by the pound. Here’s what we ordered for two: ½ lb Beef Brisket 🥩 Thick, juicy, and perfectly cooked – fully done inside but still tender, with a peppery crust that balanced the smokiness. A little dip of their original sauce (tangy + spicy) made it even better! ½ lb Pork Ribs 🐖 My friend’s first bite: “Tastes like Hong Kong-style char siu!” But honestly? Even better – less fatty, soft, and not greasy. ⚠️ Avoid the Glazed version unless you’re ready for a sugar and calorie overload – the staff really lay it on thick! Large Jalapeño Cheese Rice 🧀🌶️ So rich and heavy – the rice almost disappeared into the cheese! We needed pickles just to cut through all that richness. Fun fact: The three guys ahead of us ordered enough to feed a small army 🪖… How do they eat so much and not gain weight?! 🤔 📍 Pinkerton's Barbecue 107 W Houston St, San Antonio, TX #PinkertonsBBQ #SanAntonioEats #TexasBBQ #FoodComa #LineWorthTheWait
