San Antonio Riverwalk – Mokara Hotel & Spa
San Antonio gives me the vibe of a small yet vibrant city. The Riverwalk at night is truly enchanting, with strings of colorful lights draped from tall trees, their reflections dancing on the water 🌟🌊. Along both sides of the river, bustling paths are filled with people—kids holding glowing balloons tugging at their moms, teens in cowboy hats posing with friends for photos 🤠📸. A few steps up, a bar singer strums a guitar and sings on a starry terrace, while scattered guests sip drinks and join in the chorus 🎤🍹. The Mokara Hotel sits right in the liveliest part of the Riverwalk. The lobby proudly displays its 2021 Forbes Four-Star plaque ✨🏆. The hotel has an old-school romantic charm—I saw many elegant older ladies looking absolutely beautiful. At the elevator, I even glimpsed an elderly couple sharing a passionate kiss 💑❤️—quite a scene! The room facilities aren’t the newest, but the service is exceptional. Two days before arrival, the hotel called to ask how we’d like the room decorated. Following my husband’s "straightforward" taste, they prepared roses, chocolates, and fresh fruits 🌹🍫🍓. I’m sure champagne could also be arranged with advance notice! Dinner at the hotel requires a reservation—their fried calamari was delicious 🦑. Breakfast portions are generous, around $15 per meal, though the avocado toast turned a bit oily as it cooled 🥑🍞. And the spa—no photos, but what an experience! Spa amenities are complimentary. The front desk repeatedly encouraged us to make time for it, suggesting we check out at 4 PM, leave our luggage with them, and then enjoy the spa for a refreshing recharge 💆♀️🌸. #MokaraHotelAndSpa #RiverWalk #SanAntonio
