San Antonio Super Detailed Guide – How to Play & Eat (Part 2)

Picking up from where we left off! 😊 We headed to Historic Market Square, browsed through some cute little shops, and then stopped at the popular Tex-Mex spot Mi Tierra! This place is seriously bustling—they gave us a buzzer when we put our name down, and even on a weekday, we waited about 15 minutes. 🕒🍽️ Right at the entrance, they have their own bakery. Highly recommend the rice cakes (tortas de arroz)!!! I tried something similar in Mexico 🇲🇽 and never forgot it—and here, it tasted exactly the same! Chewy, slightly sweet, and absolutely delicious~ 😍 They also have cakes with fruit or Oreo toppings, soaked in coffee syrup at the bottom. The cake itself wasn’t too sweet thanks to the coffee soak, but the frosting seemed like non-dairy cream—it held its shape forever but melted completely on my hand… weird, right? 🙈 If anyone knows why, drop a comment! Even though I usually scrape off frosting from cakes (not a fan of buttercream), this one had me hooked—I devoured every bit of it! 🍰✨ Paired with that coffee syrup? Perfection! Outside, there was a churro stand called Churro Star on Google Maps—freshly fried, crispy outside, soft inside… so good! 🌟🍩 Next, we visited the Courthouse and San Fernando Cathedral. 👉 Important note about the light show schedule: Tuesdays & Sundays: 7:30 PM, 8:00 PM, 8:30 PM (3 shows) Fridays & Saturdays: 9:00 PM, 9:30 PM, 10:00 PM (3 shows) Each show lasts about 20 minutes. Don’t make our mistake—we carefully planned to arrive at 7:30 PM on a Monday, only to find… no show at all! Mondays are off, y’all! 🙈😅 On the way back, we passed Blue Bell Ice Cream in downtown San Antonio. Sadly, they don’t offer samples here 🍦, and each scoop only allows one flavor. We tried the almond chocolate—really tasty though! The next morning, we visited the famously beautiful Mission San Jose. Everyone says if you only see one mission in San Antonio, make it this one. But lately, it’s under construction 🚧, and it’s pretty far south of downtown. Unless you’re super into missions, it might not be worth the special trip right now. ⛪🤷♀️ #TexasFoodFinds #TexasTravel #SanAntonio #RoadTrip #TravelGuide #ExploreSanAntonio
