San Diego | La Jolla Cove: A Close Encounter with Nature 🌊

La Jolla Cove in San Diego, California, is a place where you can get up close and personal with sea lions and seals 🦭😍! 📍 Location & Transportation Just search for “La Jolla Cove” on Google Maps to get directions. If you’re coming from Los Angeles, it’s about a 2-hour drive. You can also take the Pacific Surfliner train and enjoy the scenic views along the way. Board at: Union Station (Los Angeles) Get off at: Solana Beach or Old Town (San Diego). 🎈 Highlights of Your Visit This place feels like a natural zoo! The beach is teeming with wild seals and sea lions lounging on rocks and sand, occasionally making noises. They’re super cute but also quite smelly, so bringing a mask might be a good idea. There are also silly pelicans, soaring seagulls, and squirrels foraging in the cliffs and bushes—a scene full of life! 🐧 🌊 Water Activities: As an Asian, I definitely wasn’t brave enough to go in the water 😆. But in Figure 11, you can see a few locals playing in the cold water. You have to admire their resilience! 🍽 Dining Nearby Bobboi Natural Gelato: A popular Italian gelato shop just a 5-minute walk away. There are also plenty of other restaurants and cafes offering everything from seafood feasts to light snacks. 🅿 Parking Tips You can park along the street within designated parking lines. ⚠ Important Notes While you can get close to the seals and sea lions, never touch or feed them. Respect their natural habitat and protect the environment. Since there are many sea lions and birds, the air might have a distinct smell—but that’s part of the unique experience, haha! 😄 #SanDiego #LaJollaCove #USATravel #BeachSunset #MarineLife
