San Francisco Is Experiencing A Wide Spread Power Outage Leaving Thousands Without Power — Here’s What To Know
Many neighborhoods in San Francisco are currently experiencing widespread power outages . The outages started this morning and have continued to spread across the city. Many portions of the western part of San Francisco are currently experiencing outages, including the Sunset, Richmond, Presidio, the Haight, and more. Reports indicate that the Inner Sunset was the first to lose power, and the outage has since spread to numerous other neighborhoods across the city. Other neighborhoods with outages include Pacific Heights, Duboce Triangle, Civic Center Plaza, and more. PG&E is reporting that approximately 125,000 people are left without power due to 160 outages. PG&E is currently working to restore the power, with some areas such as the Presidio estimated to get power back by 3:45 pm. They estimated that other areas in the city could have power back in the early evening. Traffic lights may be affected during the outage, so be sure to be cautious on the road and as a pedestrian. Traffic delays should also be expected due to the outages. Muni buses are currently still running, although expect potential delays due to traffic. San Francisco is expected to continue experiencing rain for the rest of the week, with three systems forecast for the city.
