Sangria All Year Round 🍷 Spanish Restaurant Recommendation

Visited a Spanish restaurant in Charlottenburg, near the Yumcha bubble tea shop subway station. Highly Recommended 🔅 🍷 Sangria Loving the fruity-rich flavor here! Generous portions of fresh strawberries, blueberries, and oranges steeped in wine—beautiful color and balanced taste. 🍮 Churros with Chocolate Pudding Sauce Must-try! The chocolate sauce is like smooth pudding, hitting all the right spots. Only 4 pieces per order though—definitely need a larger portion! 🐟 Vinegar-Marinated Anchovies Perfectly balanced acidity (unlike the overly sharp tapas at other spots). My only gripe: tiny serving size. Decent But Unremarkable 🫡 Green Peppers: Standard fare. Spanish Omelet (Tortilla Española): Mildest tapas on the menu, nothing to write home about. Fried Eggplant Strips: Coated in honey—interesting first-time try. Avoid at All Costs ❌ 12-Month Aged Iberico Ham Subpar quality—neither salty nor flavorful. Skip this. Galician-Style Octopus with Potatoes Extremely salty, minuscule portion, and mushy octopus (either overcooked or not fresh). Paella Big letdown in Berlin (common issue with ingredient freshness). This version had: Bitter aftertaste (likely too much saffron) Overcooked rice (more like risotto than separate grains) Zero socarrat (the crispy bottom layer)—not recommended! Notes: ✅ Dog-friendly ❌ Cash preferred (they only bring out the card machine if you insist) 🇪🇸🥘 La Candela by Picoteo Tapas-Bar 🥘🇪🇸 €34/person, small portions, often too salty—but might revisit to try other dishes. #GlobalFoodCriticChallenge #EuroAustraliaCuisine #SpanishCuisine #SpanishTapas #Paella
